This is a review for the services of Rob Honey on SaltSpring Island. It’s from my mother Joanne Caron who has a cottage being built.

Back in 2021 she sold her home in Victoria and bought on SaltSpring with the dream of building this cottage.

She has been through four different contractors as of January 2025, and the roof almost completed but is stalled thanks to Rob Honey.

Rob came in and initially did a good job cleaning up the previous contractors poor craftmanship. But when it came time to put the roof on, he struggled with the design concept. Eventually he got it and finished the roof but my mothers cottage has been stalled thanks to Rob’s work with the the facia off the roofing. She’s lined up Accent Exteriors to put the roofing shingles on but they won’t until the roof facia is up to snuff which Rob is not offering to do despite being paid.

We are posting this because we are both annoyed and pissed off and hope people tread lightly when thinking about hiring Rob Honey. This cottage has been in the works for almost 3 years now and Rob was supposed to be done in September of 2024. But he has been holding things back further because of his poor work with the roofing facia which you can see below.
